Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor speaking, consultant and syndicated columnist. She is also an television host, and author. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in every seasons of Shark Tank. In February 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 investment which was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved from one job to another throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran states that her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and condescension. Corcoran struggled at school and later learned that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and was a D-student when she graduated.
